Film Production

You may be asking yourself, “What’s the difference between your video and film production services?” Well, films are longer are more in-depth than video. They go beyond the surface and they seek to explore a business, person, or idea a little further. You may feel 1 to 2 minutes may not be enough to tell your story and believe it or not, some people still like to watch things they can sink their teeth into. That’s where a professionally produced film can be a great asset to you.

The process for shooting a film is much in the same as it is for video production, but more involved.  Often times it’s multiple days of shooting and several locations, so more time and energy is put in.  Films usually require added equipment and crew as well which can be decided on while discussing your budgetary needs. Ideas on your film can be brought to us if you have one. Or, if you have a topic but haven’t quite figured out the direction of the film we would love to run some ideas through with you. There are so many different avenues in which a film can take and we want to make sure your message is reflected in it.  Then we start scouting locations, plan shots, write a script, set up interviews or find talent if needed.  After those plans are made we schedule the days we will film and then the fun begins!

During the shoot

Everyone involved will be given an agenda ahead of time and is expected to stick to it. Once we arrive at the location then set up begins.  We start with high definition cameras, then lights, and quality audio gear.  Once everything looks good then shooting begins.  With film production please understand the production will be more time intensive than video. Films tend to be a little more artistic and require extra detail. For longer shoots water, snacks, and sometimes lunch will be provided to keep everyone’s energy up.

Post production

Once we’ve wrapped up shooting then we start putting everything together. That means going through all the footage and picking the best shots. If a project needs narration we’ll get the audio files produced for that. Once all the elements are in place they are masterfully crafted together. Images, sounds, music, effects, and motion graphics combined to create the perfect blend of  storytelling and art!

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not sure if I need video or a film. What should I do?

That’s perfectly understandable and we can help make that decision a little easier for you. First thing to do is sit down and discuss the ultimate goal you have in mind. What will this be used for? Where will it be shown? Who’s your target audience? Films tend to have more longevity when it comes to relevance and can have a longer shelf life, whereas videos are more “in the moment”. There are so many factors that need to be taken into consideration and we would love to talk about these things with you.

If we need to hire talent for my film, how does that process work?

Now that’s an excellent question. If your project requires on camera talent or voiceover work we will be the ones to start scouting. Being in the industry we know where to look to find the best pool of potential people.  We’ll talk to you about the qualities you’re looking for and then find people that match those requirements. Then we’ll go back and narrow down potential choices until we find the perfect people to represent your idea, brand, product, or artform. You can be as involved or uninvolved in that process as you want to be. The choice is up to you.

What if I’m another production company and want to collaborate on project?

Well hello there! We would love to talk to you and see what type of project you’re needing assistance with. Please feel free to contact us as we love meeting and working with other people in the industry.

Films reach people in a way unlike any other. They touch the soul and make the subject unforgettable.” Aja Vickers
